| Our
Environmental Stewardship Scheme
As
well as growing potatoes and other crops we are trying
to do our bit to help the countryside and the environment
in an effort to reduce the threat of global warming.
We
have created wetting up and wild flower meadows and pollen
and nectar strips , the purpose of these meadows and nectar
strips is to encourage nesting and wading birds such as
Lapwing, Curlew, Snipe ,and a host of other wildlife such
as Roe Deer Hares and many more small animals Bees and
other insects.
We
have also planted 7 acres of broad leaf woodlands with
native trees such as Oak, Aspen, Birch, Ash, etc and here
and there Hawthorn and Gelder Rose. all this creates a
good habitat for wildlife.

We
are proud that Npower renewables have gained planning
permission to build four 2.5 megawatt wind turbines
on our farm, this will help in our quest to help
combat global warming and produce clean energy
with no pollution to the atmosphere, work is expected
to start in the near future and we will post pictures
of the progress on this page. (Hellrigg Wind Farm,
